Welcome to my classroom website!
My name is Laura Palke, and I am entering my 17th year in education, and my first year in Anoka-Hennepin. I am a Minnesota native, grew up in a family of educators in Faribault, MN, and earned my B.A. in Secondary Education, English and Communications (7-12) from Grove City College (in Pennsylvania), and earned my M.S. in Educational Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State. I spent my first three years with Medford Public Schools, and the past thirteen years in Forest Lake Schools, as a high school English teacher as well as a Secondary Peer Coach. I also spent many years coaching 10th grade/B Squad fastpitch softball and 9th grade volleyball with the school district. I have taught a variety of high school classes (grades 10-12), and I am looking forward to working with middle school students this year.
My husband of nine years is also a teacher - elementary PE in the Mounds View District - and we have a daughter who is entering kindergarten this fall. Exciting times in our house, to be sure! As a family, we love to go to Twins games, travel, go to the theater, spend time at the cabin, and discover new adventures in our great state of Minnesota.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
