Welcome to Mr. Peterman's Web PageGreetings! My name is Mr. Peterman. This is my 23nd year teaching Health and Physical Education in the Anoka-Hennepin School District and my 20th at Oak View. I earned a Major in both Physical and Health Education from Bethel College and earned a Master's degree in Education from St. Mary's University. My wife and I have four daughters and live in Andover. My oldest is a Senior at UW-River Falls. My second daughter is a sophomore at UW-Eau Claire. The third is a junior at Andover HS and the youngest is a freshman at Andover HS.I enjoy playing basketball, pickleball, walking, biking, spending time with my dogs, and camping in the BWCA.My goal for students is that they try their best, have fun, and enjoy being physically active!Thank you for supporting your student's education. I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
Gradebooks open all year
Important gradebook difference:
Standards based grading is different from traditional grading in that students may continue to work on a standard or benchmark throughout the year. Often, teachers will introduce a benchmark in one trimester, and then continue to refine it throughout the year as skills progress until proficiency is reached. You may notice that your child’s gradebook will remain “open” throughout the year so that proficiency can be tracked and a final score given once the student has met the benchmark.
