Welcome to the Hoover Elementary - Biomedical, Health Sciences and Engineering program site. As a specialty school in the Anoka-Hennepin School district, we teach the same core curriculum as other district elementary schools. Through integration, we also provide students with hands-on learning experiences that have a biomedical, health sciences and engineering focus, and tie to the MN state education standards. Our students focus on human body systems and the biomedical and technological innovations that keep us healthy.
Some highlights our students experience are:
- Kindergarten students “adopt” a cow through our partnership with Discovery Dairy and learn about calcium, bones, and growth as an enrichment to their understanding of the skeletal system!
- Field experiences and partnerships with Science Museum of Minnesota, Medtronic, Peak Physique Gym, Minnesota Twins, TEAM Chiropractic and Wellness, and many more!
- Students learn about different body systems and become “experts” each year! Our experts then leave Hoover with a deep understanding of how the human body works and stays healthy. They also learn all about the different medical advances, technology innovations, and career choices that relate to our biomedical, health sciences, and engineering focus.
We are a neighborhood school. We adhere to the district boundary guidelines.Visit our online School Finder to see if you are within our attendance area.
