• Hoover Elementary

Welcome to the Hoover Elementary - Biomedical, Health Sciences and Engineering program site. As a specialty school in the Anoka-Hennepin School district, we teach the same core curriculum as other district elementary schools. Through integration, we also provide students with hands-on learning experiences that have a biomedical, health sciences and engineering focus, and tie to the MN state education standards. Our students focus on human body systems and the biomedical and technological innovations that keep us healthy.

Some highlights our students experience are:

    • Field experiences and partnerships with the Science Museum of Minnesota, the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, Urban Air Adventure Park, MNGi, Hy-Vee, the Minnesota Twins, STARBASE, the Bakken Museum, and many more allow our students to engage in hands-on learning.
    • At Hoover, our students don't just learn about the human body, they become experts in it. Over their time with us, they study six body systems: Skeletal, Muscular, Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory, and Nervous. Hoover students gain a comprehensive understanding of how the human body works and how to keep it healthy.
    • Students also learn about the different medical advances, technological innovations, and career choices related to our focus on biomedical, health sciences, and engineering.
We are a neighborhood school. We adhere to the district boundary guidelines.
