Madison Elementary School is a one-story, square, brick building encompassing 57,000 square feet. It is located on ten acres in a residential area in Blaine, Minnesota. Madison opened in the fall of 1967 with 950 students. Madison has traditionally been a "walking school," however, as boundaries expanded, more of the 450 students are bused to and from school. Madison was the first "million dollar elementary school" in Anoka-Hennepin Independent School District. The physical plan contains 24 regular sized classrooms, 3 kindergarten rooms, and 4 smaller instructional rooms.
