InTouch Phone Message: Oct 26

Good Afternoon,

This is Gary Lundeen, Principal at Oak View Middle School.

Bobcat Den

In order to provide greater support for students, Oak View Middle School is excited to offer our Bobcat Den again this year.  The Bobcat Den is an after-school opportunity for students to work on homework, get help from a teacher, make up tests or assignments after being absent, or use a computer for school-related activities.  The Bobcat Den is open Monday through Thursday from 3:10 to 4:10 in our Media Center.  Staff who support students represent a variety of content areas and expertise.  For greater convenience, we have after school activity buses that depart Oak View about 4:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Wednesdays, students should arrange their own transportation home after the Den.  Again, we’re excited to provide a safe, teacher-supervised location for students to get additional support after school.

Halloween Reminders

Holidays provide schools the opportunity to balance maintaining a productive learning environment while acknowledging the festivity of special events.  Next Thursday is a regular school day at Oak View Middle School.  This is a reminder that students are not allowed to wear costumes to school or bring bags of candy for distribution, as these activities cause distraction during the day.  Our goal is that students have a productive school day and that they have a fun evening.

Calendars

A quick look out to the month of November:  There is no school on Tuesday, November 5 due to staff training and development.  First trimester officially ends on Tuesday, November 26, with no school November 27 through December 3 due to the Thanksgiving Holiday and teacher training and planning.  Second trimester starts on December 4.

Have a great weekend!
