• Scholarships

    Scholarships provide financial support for students to help pay for a college degree. These funds enable students to obtain education they may not have access to otherwise. Scholarships go further than being financial aid for many students. They reward deserving students with the ability to afford higher education. Below are resources to assist students with their search for scholarships. 

  • STEP Scholarship

    Every year, STEP gives scholarships to many deserving students who have attended our program. You are encouraged to complete an application for a STEP scholarship.

    Deadline: Must have all application materials submitted by Friday, April 17, 2026. 
     

    General eligibility for all scholarship applicants:
    ●     Must have attended STEP
    ● Must be a 2026 high school graduate
    ● Must be attending an accredited college or university in the fall of 2026
    ● Must register for at least 12 credits at an accredited college/university/technical institute

     
    Process for Scholarship Application:
    1. Write your goals and financial needs essay in either a Word document or Google doc. See instructions and rubric for scoring. Aim for an essay length of 400 to 600 words. 
    2. Determine a STEP instructor who can provide a recommendation. They will be sent the recommendation form on your behalf to complete after you submit your complete application. You do not need to ask them for a separate letter.
    3. Complete the entire form and upload your goals and financial needs essay.
