It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Monroe Elementary welcomes state leaders to celebrate investment in literacy
(05/31/2024) Monroe Elementary School - Mathematics, Science and Children’s Engineering welcomed leaders from ServeMinnesota, SPS Commerce and the Minnesota Department of Education to announce a major investment from the SPS Foundation that will help rapidly scale Bridge2Read, a science of reading-based approach in elementary schools across the state.

Monroe Elementary named Magnet Schools of America school of distinction
(02/01/2024) Monroe Elementary School - Mathematics, Science and Children’s Engineering has been named a 2024 Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction. MSA national merit awards are given to magnet schools that demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement.

MCA scores available for parents/guardians to view online
(11/05/2024) Students in grades 3-8 and in grades 10 and 11 take Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) tests. Scores are now available for students who took the test in the 2023-24 school year.

Students participate in tradition of Anoka Halloween, represent schools and marching bands
(10/25/2024) Anoka is known as the “Halloween Capital of the World,” and on the afternoon of Oct. 25, students walked and played instruments at the event.

Special Education Advisory Council Resource Information Night set for November 14
(10/21/2024) The Anoka-Hennepin Schools Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is hosting a resource information night on Thursday, November 14 for families of students with special needs to learn about resources available in the community.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day recognized in Anoka-Hennepin Schools
(10/14/2024) The State of Minnesota officially changed the historic Columbus Day Holiday to Indigenous Peoples Day in 2023 and also established a direction for schools.
