Support at Monroe - Title I information

  • Title I school teams meet with families each year to determine the best ways to work together to make sure all students get the individual support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards. The families and staff at Monroe annually discuss, review and revise a Title I Family-School Compact - which is a jointly developed agreement. View the grade level compacts, below.

    At Home

Every trimester the school community will partner with families in providing resources on how to support students’ success in reading and math at home.

    • Read 20 minutes everyday with your child or have them read independently.
    • Each trimester a curriculum family night will be offered.
    • Talk with your child about their learning in reading and math.

    Grade 5:

Families can help students practice the above key concepts by:

    • Experience new things together as a family.
    • Encourage independence by letting kids try without help.
    • Ask questions about the world around you and see answers.
    • Point out how you solve everyday problems (what do you do when . . . ?)

    Communication

Our school is committed to communicating regularly with families about children’s learning. Some of the ways you can expect communication are:

    • Teacher emails, phone calls, or notes.
