Trap and skeet is the fastest growing high school sport in Minnesota!
We are a group of students in grades nine through 12 representing Andover High School in the shooting sports of trap and skeet.
Who can join?
Open to boys and girls in grades nine through 12 from Andover High School.
Do I need experience?
No shooting experience necessary; however, firearm safety certification is required. No tryouts are held; however, space is limited.
Coaches hold an informational meeting about the third week in January for all those interested in participating. Watch for the information meeting email from Bob Leverentz.
The season begins around the end of March or early April and runs through the end of May. In early June, we have an awards banquet and the Alexandria state shoot (which typically takes place in the middle of June). The club shoots once a week at Metro Gun Club in Blaine and shoot two rounds per week. The approximate cost per person is $300 to $350 (can vary each year) and includes all rounds of clays, shells, uniform and league registration fee.
Interested in joining?
Sign up for the fall or spring league at the trap and skeet table during fall open house or email: firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the registration notification email list.
Supervision and instruction is provided by experienced coaches. Students will compete against other schools from around the state. Participation in the state shoot at the end of the school year provides a chance to advance to the Minnesota State High School League championship. Overall, the club provides an opportunity for students to improve shooting skills, meet new friends and represent Andover High School.
