     Shaun Halland
     
    Mr. Halland is in his eighth year at Andover High School, and 16th year of teaching overall.  He also serves as Director of Worship and Music at Saint Anthony Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Mr. Halland has a Bachelor Degree from Luther College and a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting and Sacred Music from Luther Seminary. He has studied conducting with Weston Noble, Tim Peter, Sandra Peter, Anton Armstrong and Robert Scholz. Mr. Halland also works as a freelance accompanist, playing for ACDA Honor Choirs and, most recently, the MMEA All-State Mixed Choir. Professionally, Mr. Halland sings withThe National Lutheran Choir and has sung with Invocation, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Chorale and Pop-Up Choir.
     
     
    Mr. Halland teaches Bel Canto (10th-12th Grade Women's Choir) and Cantemus (9th Grade Men's Choir). He also accompanies for choirs and students throughout the year. In addition, he directs Bel Canto's Chamber Choir and works as Vocal Music Director for the Spring Musical.

       The Andover High School Choral Program consists of five curricular choirs; Concert Choir (10-12 Select Mixed), Bel Canto (10-12 Select Women), Cantabile (10-12 Mixed), Colla Voce (9th Women) and Cantemus (9th Men). Co-curriclular choirs include a Mixed Chamber Choir and a Women's Chamber Choir. During the course of Andover's tenure as a high school, the Andover Concert Choir has been invited to perform at the ACDA-MN Fall Convention, twice at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Choral Arts Finale at Orchestra Hall and as a demonstration choir during the MMEA Mid-Winter Clinic. Concert Choir has also participated in the VocalEssence Cantare Program and the Cantus Residency Program.  Bel Canto has been featured at the 2016 Choral Arts Finale at Orchestra Hall and the MMEA Midwinter Clinic in 2019. The Andover choral program tours annually, with trips to Italy in March of 2016 and Spain in March of 2019.
