Hey, welcome to my class!

          My name is Amna Kiran and I am from Pakistan. This is my fourth year of teaching in United States of America, but I have taught English in Pakistan for several years. I acquired my education from Pakistan and taught English at multiple levels for a number of years. I did my M.A in English literature and an M.Ed from University of the Punjab, a prestigious university in Pakistan. I, then decided to further my education and came to Hamline University in United States of America where I not only finished my MA in ESL but also earned my licensure of teaching English as a second language. I have learned English as a second language myself and have a strong empathy for those who go through the same process. I am really excited for the upcoming school year and thrilled about being with my wonderful students and hopefully make a difference in their lives.

          I have been living in Andover with my husband and my son for the past 8-9 years. My son, who is 14, attends Andover High School as a freshman and loves playing basket ball. We as a family love to cook our ethnic food and enjoy travelling to different parts of United States and the world.

          I love languages and have fun working with those who speak multiple languages. I can proficient in Urdu, Punjabi and English; I can read and write Arabic and am currently taking Spanish level 3 at International Institute of MN.
