    Welcome Tri 1 Art Students
Please remember that you will need a pen or a pencil for class.  The Art Department will provide all other supplies.
There is no Food or Drink allowed in the Art Department, EXCEPT Water in closed containers.
Please leave your Backpack and your Hats in your locker.  These are not to be seen in class.
Cellphones are a distraction.  Making Art while texting, playing games, or watching videos will not be good art.
Please be aware that we will not be asking you to put the phone away, but if YOU miss a demo, or activity because YOU were making a choice to text, watch videos, or play games, we reserve the right to not give you the demo, activity or explain the assignment again. In this instance your choice would be to: put the phone away and pay attention, or ask a friend for help.
We look forward to facilitating your  creativity.

Art Club meets every Thursday after school from 2:30- 4:00pm.
Art Club is open to all students who are interested in art and art-making!  No previous art experience or talent required. The activities are determined by the members, but usually include the following.

~A large mural for the fall Homecoming celebration.

~Smaller community service projects, like a swim team mural or painting toy cars for charity.

~Jewelry projects of clay and glass.

~Empty Bowls Project.  By November we make ceramic bowls for the local Empty Bowls project.  Students learn to use the potter’s wheels to make bowls and glaze them for the charity event in the spring.  Empty Bowls is a fundraiser event where the community is invited for an evening of food and fun.  Attendees make a donation and then may choose whatever ceramic bowl they like, with the funds going to the local food shelf.

Meetings are Thursdays after school until 4pm (you can get a pass to Husky House if you need to take the Activity Bus home).  It is $5.00 to join, and you can come as you are available depending on other sports and activities, as the club runs year round.
