• Welcome to Mr. Reiter's site!

I teach 11th grade English and AP Language & Composition. This is my first year at Andover High School. I teach English because I passionately believe the study of language and literature benefits all students in terms of critical thinking skills, self-expression, and expanded worldview. Before earning my secondary teaching license, I spent five years as a newspaper reporter and editor at community newspapers in the Twin Cities metro area and taught journalism as an adjunct instructor at Bethel University. I've also taught middle school for a year in Minneapolis. I hold a B.A. in Journalism from Bethel University and a M.A. in Teaching from Hamline University.

Outside of teaching, I love reading, camping, and attending literary events around the Twin Cities. I live in St. Paul with my wife (Ashley), daughter (Jean), and son (Malcolm), as well our dog (Grotto) and cat (Truman).

My goal is to collaborate with students and make learning both meaningful and fun. I'm excited to get to know students and the community in the year ahead!
