• Welcome!
  • A note from Al Ickler, Director of Anoka-Hennepin Community Education

Welcome to the start of the 2016-17 school year. It’s going to be a very good one. Whether you had the summer off or not, I hope you had an opportunity to rest and rejuvenate over the summer. Our work is important, and also at times, challenging. We all need time to recharge our batteries. I hope you found time to be with friends and family. I hope you were able to be outside, and to enjoy the many things that Minnesota offers

This will be the first time that I will experience the “beginning of the school year” at Anoka-Hennepin Schools, as I just began working here with you last winter. As I visited programs, I learned quickly that we have strong programs and strong staff. I have been deeply impressed. What is also impressive is that as I talk with many of you, I hear a theme recognizing the quality of our programs, and simultaneously realizing that we can always be better. I’m excited to begin the new year and support you in your work, to explore new ways to strengthen our programs, and engage more learners and families in our programs.
Please check out the technology training opportunities for Community Education staff and the two videos below as you start the school year.
    Thanks. Have a great fall.
