Early learning resources
Anoka-Hennepin Community Education and the Anoka-Hennepin School District offer a wide range of resources to support families raising early learners ages birth to five years of age.
- Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE): Classes, events, playtimes, and other opportunities are available to provide families with information, ideas, and skills to support their child's growth and development from birth to grade three.
- Early Learning (ECFE/Preschool) Cultural Liaison: Providing support to multilingual learners and/or multicultural students and families in the Anoka-Hennepin Schools Early Learning programs.
- Pre-K to Grade 3 Parenting Education: Providing family connections and parenting education as children transition into elementary school. Pre-K to Grade 3 parenting educators offer workshops and parent resources for families with children from preschool through early elementary school years.
- Early childhood screening: Screening is required for children ages three-and-a-half years of age and older planning to attend school in the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
- New baby support: Anoka-Hennepin Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) offers in-person and online classes to provide support, encouragement, and resources.
- Home visits: Early Childhood Family Education offers free, in-home visits with licensed family educators.
- Child Care Collaborative: A free child care site visit program providing observations and assessments with Early Childhood Family Education licensed staff.
- Preschool: Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool offers preschool classes, which prepare children for kindergarten. The preschool curriculum is closely aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin School District kindergarten curriculum, and licensed teachers monitor children's progress and development throughout the school year.
- Tips and information: Licensed parenting educators share parenting tips or point families in the right direction for available resources.
- Kindergarten resources: Anoka-Hennepin Schools is ready to meet your incoming kindergarten student. Classes are offered each summer for families with a child entering kindergarten the following fall.
