Adults with special needs
The Adults with Special Needs program (also known as "Project Power") provides specialized classes for adults with disabilities. Activities and classes offer educational, recreational and social activities for participants that practice life skills to increase independence, communication, and community integration.
Project Power offers over 200 learning opportunities and social outings yearly while serving more than 3,500 participants with developmental disabilities and providing disability accommodation services for all program participants. Activities and classes are offered in a wide range of styles and formats to meet the needs of students, including:
- Arts and crafts
- Cooking and dining
- Field trips
- Health and safety
- Music and theater
- Recreation, athletics and exercise
The program distributes catalogs four times a year, making connections with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools transition program, local group homes and county social workers. To be added to our mailing list, please contact the Project Power registration line at 763-506-1290.
