Melanie Kjellberg, Director of Choirs at Andover High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Arts in Education degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She has completed further advanced coursework from the University of St. Thomas and Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Mrs. Kjellberg is currently in her 29th year of teaching vocal music and is honored to be the Director of Choirs at Andover High School. Prior to her tenure at Andover High School, she taught vocal and classroom music at both the middle school and high school levels in Richfield and White Bear Lake.
In addition to her active roles as an adjudicator and clinician, Mrs. Kjellberg has served as a section coach and team lead for the Minnesota Music Educator Association (MMEA) All-State Choirs from 2011-2015, as the MMEA Choral Vice President from 2013-2015, co-chair for the ACDA-MN 9/10 State Honor Choirs from 2009-2013 and chair for the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA) Central and North Central Region's High School Honor Choir Chair in 2018.
Mrs. Kjellberg and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents and grandparents. They, along with Otis (their charming English Springer Spaniel), reside in St. Paul.
