Merry Music Makers spread holiday cheer at annual concert, Dec. 11
Project Power, the adults with special needs program coordinated by Anoka-Hennepin Community Education, presented its annual holiday concert performed by the Merry Music Makers choral group Wednesday., Dec. 11 at Northtown Mall, in the Best Buy court. The Merry Music Makers incorporate choral, percussion and movement in each performance, which was free of charge and open to the public. Merry Music Makers choral director, Amanda Verstegen, is a Certified Music Therapist who works with all musical abilities.
Project Power offers educational, recreational and social activities for participants to practice life skills to increase independence, communication, and community integration. A wide range of classes, activities and field trips are offered all year long. Through the program, community education hosts more than 200 learning opportunities and social outings yearly while serving more than 3,500 participants with developmental disabilities and providing disability accommodation services for all program participants.
This years program included the following choral performances:
