Anoka Children’s Theatre to present “Shrek, the Musical, Jr.,” Mar. 27-29
The Anoka Children's Theater will present, "Shrek, The Musical, Jr." with performances March 27-29 at Anoka Middle School for the Arts – Fred Moore campus (1523 South Fifth Avenue, Anoka).
Friday, March 27: 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 28: 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 29: 2 p.m.
Students in grades four-eight will deliver a delightful story of ogres, fairytale creatures and wacky royalty - all in a faraway kingdom as the whole cast comes together to celebrate individuality and true love. Students work for months to learn roles, lines and music, and design professional sets. Audience members of all ages are invited to attend, audience participation is encouraged!
Tickets will be on sale - $10 for adults and $5 for youth or seniors - online, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 19, at www.ahschools.us/anokachildrenstheatre. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
Meet the cast In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Anoka Children’s Theatre, Shrek and his friends are throwing a party! Join us for a swamp party, Saturday, Feb. 29 from 1-3 p.m. – a fun afternoon with the Anoka Children’s Theatre cast in costume, leading games, crafts and snack time. Attendees will have photo opportunities with the cast in costume and get a sneak preview of the upcoming show. A coloring contest will be held, with a prize of two free tickets to “Shrek, the Musical, JR.”
Participants may choose to dress as your favorite Shrek character, swamp gear or as themselves. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $10, register online.
