(5/20/20) Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers driver education in partnership with Safeway Driving School to provide an additional opportunity for students to complete their classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.

Driver education classes are open to teens ages 15 and up, and will be held online with a licensed instructor in July and August, due to a variance from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Classroom sessions prepare students for the Minnesota driver's permit test and becoming a responsible driver.
- Behind-the-wheel includes six hours of driving in three, two-hour sessions on actual city streets, highways and freeways. Additional safety precautions are being implemented.
- Instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and complete a background check each year. Instructors have experience teaching teens and receive extensive training.
