Summer aquatic programs re-opening, now accepting registrations
(6/25/20) Anoka-Hennepin Community Education is now offering limited aquatic programs, following health and safety recommendations from the Minnesota department of health (MDH) and the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The community education department has traditionally offered aquatic programming at Roosevelt Community Pool, but due to current construction this summer, aquatic programs will be held at Northdale Middle School pool (11301 Dogwood St. NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448) as we begin to welcome swimmers back.
Aquatic programs have been modified and instructors have been trained in following social distance guidelines in the pool. The number of participants in each class is limited, and we ask that only one adult accompany each child for observation to minimize the number of people in the pool and on the pool deck or bleachers. Staff will be cleaning all aquatic equipment including kick boards or diving rings between uses.
Swimmers should come dressed, ready to swim; and should bring a towel and comfortable clothing to wear over swimwear after programs - as current health and safety guidelines do not allow for use of locker rooms for changing. Swimmers will be asked to enter the pool deck through the locker room to shower in swimwear prior to entering the pool.
