Acting III Syllabus
In Acting III students will:
1. Direct throughout the rehearsal process for a performance
· organize students for rehearsal and performance
· interpret dramatic text
· execute the design of a single, complex work or multiple works in theater
2. Revise performance based on artistic intent using multiple sources of feedback to improve communication of an artistic vision and promote self-reflection
· apply artistic foundations to a performance
· adjust performance based on multiple sources of critique and feedback
· justify artistic intent, including how audience and occasion influence performance choice
3. Respond to or critique a variety of performances using artistic foundations to develop critical thinking skills
· analyze, interpret and evaluate a variety of works in theatre by applying self-selected criteria
· justify choices of self-selected criteria based on knowledge of how criteria affects criticism
Grading Policy:
Informal Performances 45%
Formal Performances 40%
Written work 15%
Students are responsible for turning work in/performing on the assigned due date or making arrangements with me prior to the deadline. Late work turned in/performed before the deadline will be scored one letter grade lower. After the deadline, the score will be reduced by 50%.
Grading modifications may be made for students with IEP or 504 plans.
