I would like to welcome you and your student to this academic school year! Since I will be spending so much time with your child, I would like to tell you some information about my professional and personal life. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Winona State University and a Master's Degree in Education from Hamline University. I began my mathematics teaching career at Southwest Junior High School in Forest Lake, Minnesota. After five years at Southwest Junior High, I was offered a job at Fred Moore Middle School in Anoka, Minnesota, and proudly became a teacher in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Upon completion of a year at Fred Moore Middle School, I transferred to Coon Rapids Middle School, where I continued to teach at the middle school level for another four years. Then, in August of 2003, I was hired to teach high school mathematics here at CPHS. My husband, Patrick, is also a teacher in the CPHS math department as well. Patrick and I have three children (Jordan, Miranda, and Mason), a Shih Tzu dog named Diggory, and a cat named Luna. I am an advocate for parent involvement in their child's education. I firmly believe that a child receives the best education possible when parents and teachers support eachother. I welcome your calls and messages and I am committed to communciating within a timely manner. I look forward to working with your student towards a positive high school math experience!
