Kindness poster contest winners announced
(11/08/2021) As part of October’s National Bullying Prevention campaign, Anoka-Hennepin held its 17th annual kindness poster contest.
The district invited students at all grade levels to submit their best artwork for the competition and the school-level winners advanced to the district-level judging.
This year’s theme was “Kindness has No Limits!” Nearly 100 posters were voted on by staff at the Educational Service Center (ESC) on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 2. This year’s winners are:
- Brooklynn Anderson, kindergarten, Crooked Lake Elementary School.
- Hero Vang, first grade, Sunrise Elementary School.
- Bruce Colvin, second grade, Dayton Elementary School.
- Drew Stark, third grade, Brookside Elementary School.
- Audrey Scheller, fourth grade, Oxbow Creek Elementary School.
- Cathleen Sossah, fifth grade, Oxbow Creek Elementary School.
- Clare Jolly, sixth grade, Oak View Middle School.
- Camryn Talbot, seventh grade, Oak View Middle School.
- Molly Siedschlag, eighth grade, Coon Rapids Middle School.
- Eva Figueroa Jusino, 10th grade, Andover High School.
Watch the video, recognizing the award-winning artwork. These students will be recognized at a future School Board meeting and will receive a Kindle tablet from the Horace Mann Company. Winning posters will also be displayed on the district website and printed for use in school buildings across the district.
