District to participate in the Summer Food Service Program
(05/22/2020) The Anoka-Hennepin School District will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) once again this summer. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under, free of charge.
Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, at 13 sites across the district. The program will start Wednesday, June 10. The hours of operation will be announced at a later date.
Food will be distributed in the parking lots of select school sites that have been designated as meal pickup locations, similar to the school-year meal access plan that was implemented during distance learning.
The summer food service program was created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure that children could continue to receive nutritious meals during summer break, when they may not have access to school breakfast or lunch.
