Upcoming Parent Engage 360 event to discuss chemical health and substance use/misuse
Join parents and guardians from the Anoka-Hennepin Schools community for a virtual event highlighting the topic of teen substance use. The event, Parent Engage 360: Talking with your teen: Myth versus Fact, is set for 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. The event is free and open to the public. Watch LIVE at ahschools.us/parentengage360.
Parent Engage 360 events aim to provide resources to parents and guardians to support their students and others in the community. Colleen O’Neil, Anoka-Hennepin Schools chemical health prevention specialist, in conjunction with Cindy Doth, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, and Elle Mark, Know the Truth Prevention Program, will highlight factors that are contributing to increasing substance use amongst youth, as well as help parents and caregivers set the stage for open communication around substance use/misuse. The goal is to help educate parents and guardians and offer resources to help them begin to have the conversation.
