District adds boys' volleyball as a sanctioned high school league co-curricular activity

(09/04/2024) All five traditional Anoka-Hennepin high schools (Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Champlin Park and Coon Rapids) will now offer boys volleyball as a sanctioned Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) co-curricular activity. The School Board approved the recommendation on a unanimous vote at the regular meeting on Aug. 26.

Each school program will support a varsity and junior varsity team with a cap of 32 athletes per school. The season will officially get underway with practices starting March 17, 2025.

The MSHSL officially approved boys' volleyball as a sanctioned sport in May, making Minnesota the 25th state to offer it as a co-curricular activity.

Andover and Blaine high schools will compete in Section 7A while Anoka, Champlin Park and Coon Rapids high schools will compete in Section 8A.
