University Avenue students team up to donate warmth to the Alexandra House
(02/27/2025) Kindergarten and third grade students at University Avenue Elementary School - Aerospace, Children’s Engineering and Science teamed up to make and donate tie blankets to the Alexandra House in Blaine.
Alexandra House is a dedicated refuge created to support victims and survivors of violence. It is the only 24-hour emergency shelter in Anoka County. Alexandra House provides secure emergency shelter and access to basic needs to nearly 25 or more survivors and children daily.
University Avenue students participated in the project to learn more about the community and show appreciation for what Alexandra House does for the community.
On Feb. 19, University Avenue welcomed the Alexandra House to deliver the hand-made blankets, which will be provided for both adults and children at the Alexandra House. View photos from the donation event.
