    Why I love teaching my IB course: Gives students a variety of math areas and allows them to see how math is used in real life situations.

    The best academic piece of advice to students: Do your work and do it on time...work is never assigned for no reason, it is to help you be successful!

    Why I love teaching my IB course: I enjoy the range of content IB Math Studies covers, and I love seeing students grow academically and personally over the course of the year as they stretch their ability as students and find success in a challenging course.

    The best academic piece of advice to students: Never give up on learning. There are always people and resources available to help you when you are struggling - seek them out and you will find success!

    Favorite thing to do besides teaching IB classes: Spending time with my family. Playing outside - running, hiking, wakesurfing, and skiing (Nordic & Telemark).

    Use all provided resources to study and prepare for tests (Moodle, assignments, quizzes, reviews, notes, etc.) and keep your notes to help you.

    Favorite thing to do besides teaching IB classes:
    Ski, go to the gym, eat, sleep, watch TV, play video games, hang out with friends.

    Why I love teaching my IB course: There are so many options. My students know so much math and they learn to connect it all together. It's fun to watch.

    Be willing to take a risk and try something. Even if you are not sure, there is more than one way to tackle a problem.
     
    Favorite thing to do besides teaching IB classes:
    I love to read. I volunteer at my church a lot working mostly with social justice issues. I am very involved in the Immigrant Support Ministry. I have been a mentor to an Iraqi refugee family and starting to mentor a Somali family. I am also working with a sanctuary support church. I also like to ride my bike.

    Why I love teaching my IB course: I really enjoy working with students who are thinking at a high level and working on rigorous content while preparing to pass exams.

    What I hear from past graduates who took my course:

    When they get into their calculus classes in college, they are much better prepared than their peers. Also, many have said that the calculus class here at CP mimicks the college experience to a greater extent than some of their other high school courses.


    The best piece of academic advice to students: Don't be afraid to work outside of your comfort zone.

    Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Geo-caching, Scuba diving, Playing with my kids.
