Welcome to our Classroom WebsiteMy name is Scott Storrick and I have been teaching for 21 years all at Coon Rapids. I originally graduated with Technology Education degree from Bemidji State. Previous to teaching I worked as a Production Engineer and Production Supervisor. I decided with my wife to change careers to go into teaching, I went to Mankato State to get my Technology Education Degree. In addition to above degrees I have my Masters in Education from Bethel University and my Administrative Licensure from Saint Mary's. I have mainly taught Graphics Design, since coming to Coon Rapids this program has increased from 3 courses to 11-12 per year. I am also the Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach, in addition I am Department Head for Technology Education. This year I am in charge of our SKILLS USA program which is an Internship program 4th period of the day and they go in a manufacturing company during 5th period of the day. I am also involved in our new Engineering Program teaching Introduction to Engineering Design. I have been involved with curriculum writing, served as CST in charge for Technology Education for Anoka Hennepin and schools Achievement Analyst.My wife Amy is counselor at Coon Rapids and we have two children. Rob graduated last year from Grinnell College in the middle of Iowa. He majored in Economics and is working for a company in Minneapolis in executive compensation consultant for Grant Thornton. Rob played tennis for Grinnell where he was a captain twice. In high school Rob went to state twice for Coon Rapids. Our daughter Libby last year from Beloit College which is located right on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois. Libby majored in Math and Sociology and is working for Mayo Clinic as a anlyst in their cancer research. Libby played tennis and lacrosse for the college. Libby served as an assistant coach for the college's lacrosse team. While in high school Libby played 3 sports tennis, basketball, lacrosse and tennis. Libby also participated in the state tennis tournament.My interests are my family foremost. While they are in college I am traveling to watch them in their college athletics and spending quality time visiting with them. I love every racquet sport there is ranging from tennis, racquetball and pickleball, also love dogs. We had a Gordon Setter of 14 1/2 years that recently we had to put down and we also have Bernese Mountain Dog. I also, love to spend time gardening which I acquired from my mom.As a teacher at Coon Rapids my goal is to make the class an environment where your sons and daughter will learn, enjoyable and hold them accountable. I am always available before school and when tennis is not going in the fall or spring after school to help students. I very appreciative that I had the opportunity to teach your sons and daughters.Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth.
