I have been teaching English language learners at Coon Rapids High School since 2015.  I earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 2005 and a Masters in Education from the University of St. Thomas in 2014.    I work with English learners in grades 9-12 on their academic language development and help to advance their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. I enjoy teaching students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.  This gives me the opportunity to learn about new cultures and perspectives to expand my worldview.  I am passionate about making learning engaging and meaningful while building strong relationships with my students.  I work with students to create a challenging yet comfortable and fun learning environment.  My students can expect a welcoming, caring and engaging classroom where they can be successful.     

 

I love spending time with my husband, our daughter Ceci and dog Maddy.  We enjoy trying new restaurants, cooking, biking, hiking, nature and sports.  In my free time, I like to read, garden, practice yoga, and travel.   You can also find me at the cabin and exploring the outdoors in any season.
