iBienvenidos!
iSaludos! Me llamo Sra. Jensen y llevo más que 30 años siendo maestra de español en las escuelas de Anoka-Hennepin.
Greetings! My name is Mrs. Jensen and I have taught Spanish in Anoka-Hennepin for over 30 years now!
I graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish in 1988, and again in 1990 with a Master of Education Degree. I live in Blaine with my husband- who also works for the school district- and two children, who both attend Anoka-Hennepin schools. In my spare time I enjoy riding in my convertible or on my motorcycle, as well as spending time at our cabin in Wisconsin where expanding our hosta shade gardens is one of my passions.
In the classroom my passion is helping students to develop a hunger for learning, to build good work habits, and to recognize cultural perspectives- both their own and those of others. My Spanish courses focus on building proficiency in the language within the framework of thematic units that give students the opportunity to reflect on- and share ideas about- current and relevant topics such as identity, the environment, homes and families, or health and wellness, just to name a few.
I continue to be excited to work with students who I believe to be the best students anywhere around! I consider it a privilege to be a part of their journey and to watch their growth as they strive to reach their full potential. I believe that there are many different ways to measure success, and that each new day is a fresh opportunity to make progress towards our goals.
