My name is Mrs. Betland, and I have been teaching for 28 years, 16 of them at Jackson Middle School and almost all of them in 7th grade classrooms. I went to Jackson myself as a middle school student and then graduated from Anoka Senior High. I earned both of my degrees, a B.A. in English and a Masters of Education in Language Arts, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
I have three children, all of whom went through Jackson Middle School and graduated from Champlin Park High School. I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, biking, and playing volleyball. My favorite relaxing activity, though, is reading, and I'm always excited to hear what my students are enjoying in the world of literature.
