Welcome to ELA 6!
I'm Katy Coauette, teacher of 6th English Language Arts here at Jackson Middle School. I am excited to work with your family and student during this exciting time of middle school. I graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota in 2005. For the next 6 years I was a special education para professional at Coon Rapids Middle School and learned so much about teaching and students from that experience. This is my fourth year not only at Jackson, but as a teacher and I LOVE MY JOB!
My husband, Chris, works at Coon Rapids High School as a teacher and coach. We have two cherubs: Jack (8) and Elly (4) who keep us busy and laughing quite a bit. We like to camp, eat and watch movies together.
I look forward to another great year with 6th grade: seeing the large eyes, scared on the first day, to the confident and capable kiddos they become through the year. Thank you for allowing me time to learn about you/ your child and to embark on another school year together!
