About Me...
I am Marti Biegler, and this is my 12th year at Jackson Middle School. I am licensed in the areas of Developmental/Cognitive Disabilities and Physical/Health Impairments and currently case manage for students in all areas of special education. For students who are not in my classes, I do a teacher and grade book check at least every two weeks to make sure that students are making progress on their goals/objectives and using their modifications/accommodations. I also have a chance to work with students during Advisory and will be able to check-in, as well as help them organize their materials and work on assignments/test re-takes. I will be contacting parents at least a month before a scheduled IEP meeting to allow flexibility in scheduling of the student's meeting.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in Instrumental and Classroom Music. I earned my Master of Science degree from St. Cloud State in Special Education, focusing on developmental and cognitive disabilities. I earned additional credits at University of Colorado-Pueblo, and a license in Physical/Health Impairments from Moorhead/St. Cloud.
I have been a resident of St. Louis Park for 30 years and live with my husband, Kirk, an engineer. I have three children-son Kris (35), an engineer at Polaris, and daughters Caitlin (31), a teacher at the La Crosse County Juvenile Detention Center, and Samantha (30), a preschool teacher in the Boston, MA area. When not spending time with them, I enjoy reading, gardening, sewing, and spending time at our cabin in Bayport.
Please feel free to contact me with any joys/concerns regarding your child's experience in my classroom.
