    Metal Technology 1

    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Oxy-Acetylene Welding [OAW]

    • Sheet Metal / Bench Metal

    • GMAW / SMAW Welding

    • Foundry

    • Plasma Cutting

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Welding skills, welding techniques, project based sheet metal and foundry, design and complete project using metal forming tools and welding.

    Instructional Activities: Introduction to the metal fabrication industry with emphasis on metal forming, precision, mathematics, and joining techniques through lab work.

     

    Metal Technology 2

    Prerequisite/Selection Process: Metal Technology I

    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Advanced Welding Techniques in OAW, GMAW, and SMAW

    • TIG welding Mild Steel

    • Flame Cutting

    • Lathe Operation

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Design and make projects

    Instructional Activities: In depth look at the metal fabrication industry with emphasis on precision, metal forming, mathematics, and joining techniques through lab work.

     

    Metal Technology 3

    Prerequisite/Selection Process: Metal Technology I

    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Mill Operation

    • TIG on Aluminum

    • Planning design

    • Individual Project

    • Specialization in metal working area

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Lab work, Individual Project

    Instructional Activities: In-depth look at the Metal fabrication industry with emphasis on precision, mathematics, measuring, machining, and advanced welding techniques.
