Kathleen Winkels, former child nutrition staff member, has passed away
(09/06/2024) Kathleen Winkels, a former child nutrition staff member, has passed away. She was 79 years old.
Kathleen served Anoka-Hennepin Schools in various roles in the child nutrition program from 1977-2010 at Franklin and University Avenue elementary schools and Anoka and Coon Rapids high schools.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents William and Mathlida Trautman, her older sister Sharon Frank and her younger brother Ronald Trautman. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Winkels; sons, Michael Conde, Gregory Winkels, and David (Julie) Winkels; brother, Tom (Kim) Trautman; grandchildren, Kevin Winkels, Travis (Krystal) Winkels, and Brandon (Tammya) Winkels; great-granddaughter, Addison Winkels. She loved traveling, card making, putting together puzzles and most of all her great-granddaughter Addison.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Sunday, October 6 from 2 - 6 p.m. at the Elk River American Legion Post #112, 525 Railroad Drive, Elk River.
