Anoka-Hennepin insurance open enrollment period: May 28 through June 13

(05/23/19) Anoka-Hennepin’s annual insurance open enrollment period will begin Tuesday, May 28, and will run through Thursday, June 13. Individualized brochures, with bright violet covers, will be sent to benefit eligible employees at all buildings and sites.

Changes to insurance will be made using, Anoka-Hennepin’s electronic benefit management system. Employees can use the electronic enrollment system to make changes and/or enroll in insurance benefits for a Sept. 1, 2019 effective date. Smartben username is your Social Security number and password is your 8-digit birthdate.

Medica health plans offered this year are Elect 80/20 Deductible, Choice 80/20 Deductible, Choice 90/10 Deductible, VantagePlus CoPay, along with Elect CoPay. To learn more health plans offered this insurance year, check out the video.

Employees must also enter their flexible spending account elections into the Smartben system for plan year Sept. 1, 2019 through Aug. 31, 2020. The flex health care election limit is $2,700 for the coming year. Remember: the district’s health care flex plan allows up to $500 of unused funds to roll over to the next plan year. Keep this in mind as you make your election for the coming plan year.

The Labor Relations department encourages all employees to access their account and update their beneficiaries for the group term life insurance.


Open enrollment meetings will be held at the ESC as well. Attendees should enter through Door 7.
