I have been teaching at Jackson Middle School for 14 years. I attended Bemidji State University and received Bachelors of Science Degree in Education. My license is Kindergarten through 6th grade, with an emphasis in Early Childhood. I finish up my schooling by receiving my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University.
I started out my teaching career at Jackson Middle School teaching special education in the area of Learning Disabilities. I taught in special education for four years. After that I moved into 6th grade ELA, and have been here ever since. I have also taught Math 6 and worked on 504 plans for several years.
I married my husband, Jason Lavik, in 2006. We have two children Addison, age 8, and Aiden, age 6. Addison will be in second grade and Aiden will be starting Kindergarten this fall and is very excited to get his education underway in the Anoka-Hennepin School district.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, traveling, reading, and going for walks.
