Jackson Middle School A Specialty School for Math and Science

   Hi!  I am Mrs. Gilbertson and I am a 7th grade life science teacher here at Jackson.  I have been teaching at Jackson since the 2002-2003 school year and I love it.  When I started at Jackson, I was an 8th grade Earth science teacher and after my fifth year I switched to 7th grade. 

   I  grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with my mom, dad and two brothers.  YES-I am a Packer fan. I went to Memorial High school where I competed in gymnastics and diving.  When I graduated from high school, I decided to go to college at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I majored in secondary education and science, so I can teach middle school and high school science classes.  In order to graduate from college I had to student teach and I did that at Champlin Park high school.

   After I had taught for three years, I went back to school to get my masters degree.  I completed my degree from St. Mary's University at the end of my fourth year as a teacher.  It was wonderful to learn new things that I could do in my class to make science even more fun!
