Kindergarten assessments
Data is collected throughout the year and results are shared with parents by the classroom teacher.
ACCESS for ELLS
This test is administered to English learners in order to measure progress toward meeting Minnesota’s standards for English language development. This assessment measures students' social and academic language in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing in kindergarten through 12th grade.
This test is administered in January-March to students identified as English learners.
Concepts of Math (CoM)
This assessment is administered in kindergarten and grade 1 to determine students’ mathematical number sense and math readiness based on required knowledge and skills, interest and learning profiles.
This test is administered in the fall for baseline and at the end of each trimester.
FAST earlyReading and Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM)
This assessment is part of the Formative Assessment System for Teachers (FAST) created by the University of Minnesota. The earlyReading assessment is an evidence-based progress monitoring assessment for screening and monitoring student learning in the early primary grades in reading. This assessment screening tool includes 12 optional tests to analyze skills that span concepts of print, letter sounds/names, phonological awareness, blending/segmenting, decoding sight words, and sentence reading.
These tests are administered at the end of each trimester.
