Learn more about Saint Mary’s University's Bachelor of Science in Special Education program
(02/26/2025) Saint Mary’s University is hosting a virtual information session on Monday, March 17 at 12 p.m. to provide information about the new Bachelor of Science in Special Education program. Participants will hear from the program director and transfer counselors about the program, the admissions process, and how credits will transfer.
The Bachelor of Science in Special Education is an innovative program designed to provide
real-world, practical educator training while supporting your professional advancement — all
with the flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule.
The program offers:
- Flexible, Workplace-Based Assessments: Designed for paraprofessionals, this approach integrates classroom experiences with coursework to provide authentic, hands-on training alongside special and general educators. This asynchronous structure reduces out-of-classroom time and offers opportunities to complete coursework during the workday.
- BS-to-MA Pathway: This allows candidates to complete up to 15 credits that count toward both their bachelor's degree and a master's degree, providing an efficient path to earning an additional licensure area and expanding their qualifications. Individuals with at least 30 college credits looking to complete their bachelor’s degree online and earn initial licensure in EBD, LD, and/or ASD are eligible for the program.
If interested in attending, register for the event. If you cannot make the live event, register and a link of the recording will be sent to you.
Anoka-Hennepin and Saint Mary’s University continue to partner with the Trusted Partner Scholarship Program, providing special benefits for district employees and a spouse.
