(06/04/2024) The Coon Rapids High School (CRHS) theatre department was selected to perform at the 2024 Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Showcase, Minnesota’s biggest celebration of high school theatre.
CRHS will be performing a music medley from its spring production of NEWSIES as an award-winning production. Students from CRHS were also selected to perform in groups determined by honors achieved and seniors were invited to perform in the senior number.
The medley performance will also be accompanied by a professional pit and produced by theater producers from New York to work on this production.
This marks the seventh musical CRHS will be presenting at the Spotlight Showcase. The previous award-winning productions are:
- The Drowsy Chaperone - 2016.
- Crazy for You - 2018.
- Bring it On! - 2019.
- Into the Woods - 2021.
- Hairspray - 2022.
- Beauty & the Beast - 2023.
To be selected to perform at the Showcase, CRHS performances were evaluated and received Honorable Mention or Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theater.
CRHS will perform at the Spotlight Showcase on Monday, June 10 at the historic State Theater in Minneapolis. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
