(06/03/2021) With the spring sports and activities season wrapping up, here’s a look at who’s heading to state, and how they fared when they performed and played.
Adapted Bowling
The state adapted bowling tournament for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), cognitive impairment (CI) and physical impairment (PI) was held May 10-16 and May 17-23 virtually at home sites.

Adapted Softball
It was recommended by the MAAA that no state tournaments be held in adapted softball in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Baseball
The state baseball tournament was held June 15-16 with the semifinals and third place games being played at Chaska Athletic Park. The state championship will be played June 18 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
The Andover High School baseball team earned its first trip to the state tournament in school history after cruising through the Section 7AAAA tournament. The Huskies entered the tournament with a record of 21-4 and earned a 10-0 win over Hopkins High School in the first round. Andover then lost a heartbreaker 5-4 to Park High School but rebounded with a 6-3 win over Minnetonka High School to earn a third place finish in the state tournament. The Huskies finished the year with a record of 23-5.
Softball
The state softball tournament was held June 15-16 at Caswell Park in Mankato.
The Andover High School softball team advanced to the Section 7AAAA championship series before falling twice to Forest Lake High School. The Huskies lost 11-1 and 7-0 as the Rangers earned the Section 7AAAA spot in the state tournament.
Boys Lacrosse
The state boys lacrosse tournament was held June 15, June 17 and June 19 at Stillwater Area High School.
The Blaine High School boys lacrosse team lost a heartbreaker in the Section 7A championship game, falling 8-7 in overtime to Chisago Lakes High School. All five Anoka-Hennepin high schools competed in the Section 7A tournament.
Girls Lacrosse
The state girls lacrosse tournament was held June 16-18 at Stillwater Area High School.
Andover High School girls lacrosse made its first-ever state tournament appearance after winning the Section 7A tournament. The Huskies took on top-seeded Prior Lake High School in the state tournament and saw their historic season come to an end after a 17-7 loss. Andover finished the season with a record of 14-3.
Boys Golf
The state boys golf tournament was held June 15-16 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
Andover High School's Jack Reinardy finished tied for 36th with a two-round score of 153. Benjamin Solum of Blaine High School tied for 31st with a score of 152 in the 36-hole tournament. Noah Vizenor fired a 160 over the two rounds to place tied for 57th.
Girls Golf
The state girls golf tournament was held June 15-16 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
Blaine High School's Kathryn VanArragon placed fourth overall out of 88 players in the individual standings shooting a 145 (73-72) in the 36-hole tournament. Taylor Ullen of Champlin Park High School placed 35th shooting a 164 (86-78).
Boys Tennis
The state boys tennis tournament was held June 8-11 at Prior Lake High School.
Coon Rapids High School's Sam Murillo advanced to the Class AA singles state tournament and will begin play against Allen Gong of Eagan High School on June 10.
Boys track and field
The state boys track and field meet was held June 17-19 at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Ramlah Mohamed of Blaine High School placed sixth in the MSHSL State Speech tournament in Poetry Reading.

The state clay target tournament was held June 25 at the Minneapolis Gun Club.
Quinn Steinworth from Blaine High School placed tied for 49th place with a total score of 93.
