Welcome to Coon Rapids Middle School Health 6 and Health 8!
I am entering my 2nd year teaching Health. This is my first-year teaching in the Anoka Hennepin School District and first-year at CRMS.
I attended Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) where I majored in Health Education, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. I minored in Coaching and Strength and Conditioning. I earned my master’s in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education from MSUM in 2016.
I currently teach 6th and 8th grade Health at CRMS. I am varsity assistant volleyball coach at Champlin Park HS for my 2nd season.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
Health teachers will use a standards-based grading system that focuses on the most important standards and benchmarks as determined by the National Health Standards. Students’ knowledge and performance will be evaluated using a 4, 3.5, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1, .5 proficiency scale that will allow parents, students, and others to determine what a student knows and can do. Daily practice may be noted in the gradebook, but may not be factored into the final course grade. This reflects the belief that students should be graded on what they know and can do based on multiple opportunities to showcase proficiency.
