My name is Leila Youakim and this is my 25th year of teaching science. I began my teaching career in Circle Pines teaching middle school Life Science and high school Biology. From there I transferred to Richfield Middle School where I taught an integrated science curriculum at the 7th and 8th grade levels. This is my 18th year at Anoka-Hennepin where I have taught 8th grade Earth Science and currently teach 7th grade Life Science and 7th grade Advanced Life Science.
I graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (1995), and earned my MEd in Science Education from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (1998).
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, gardening, biking, traveling, and many other activities.
I am excited to see what the new school year will bring! I hope you are too!!
