 2009-10 State Career Development Conference

On March 7, 8, and 9 at the DECA State Career Development Conference in Minneapolis, Coon Rapids DECA had a terrific showing. Some of the highlights of the State DECA Conference included a 7th place finish for Rachael Anderson and Corey Langlois; a 6th place finish for Jacob King; a 5th place finish for Julia Wittrock and the team of Rachel Nelson, Jessica Ohnstad, and Alyssa Gazda; a 4th place finish for Julia Wittrock; a 2nd place individual finish for Tyler Otten, Corey Langlois, and the team of Lauren Hill and Rachel Nelson; and a first place finish, for Morgan Knutson in the area of Technical Sales.  Overall, Coon Rapids DECA had 13 state finalists in their individual or team events.

 

One of the major highlights of the conference was when Rachel Nelson was named Coon Rapids High School’s Outstanding DECA Member of the Year. In addition to all the top finishes and recognitions Rachel Nelson, Morgan Knutson, Tyler Otten, Corey Langlois and Lauren Hill all qualified to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Louisville, Kentucky where they will be competing against the best marketing students from around the world in an extremely competitive international field.  

2010 International Career Development Conference Louisville, Kentucky

Coon Rapids sent five of our DECA members to compete at the International DECA Career Development Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.  This four day competition had over 15,000 DECA members from around the world in attendance.  Rachel M. Nelson, Lauren Hill, Morgan Knutson, Corey Langlois, and Julia Wittrock all did a fantastic job at the conference.  Mr. Bodenburg would like to congratulate Rachel, Lauren, Corey, Morgan and Julia for their tremendous efforts at the ICDC.   He would also like to congratulate every DECA member at Coon Rapids High School for a wonderful year of competition.   Good job DECA!
