2006-07 State Career Development Conference

On March 4, 5, and 6 at the DECA State Career Development Conference in Minneapolis, Coon Rapids DECA had and extraordinary showing.  At the conference Hilary Vokovan was named Coon Rapids High School Outstanding DECA member of the year, by Minnesota DECA.  Some of the other highlights of the state conference were 4th placefinishes for Kiran Devan and Alyssa Antilla, a 3rd place finish by Stephanie Topp, 2nd place finishes by Eric Dahlin and Joey Brinkman, and a 1st placefinish by the marketing plan team of Justin Hovorka, Joe Lande, Donovan Woldt, and Cooper Sartell.
 
In addition to these top finishes, Eric Dahlin, Stephanie Topp, and Alyssa Antilla also qualified for the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida where they will be competing against the best marketing students in the world in an extremely competitive international field.

Last week, Coon Rapids sent four of our DECA members to compete at the International DECA Career Development Conference in Orlando, FL.  This four-day competition had over 16,000 DECA members from around the world in attendance.  Cooper Sartell, Donovan Woldt, Alyssa Antilla, and Stephanie Topp all did a fantastic job at the conference.  Some highlights of the competition were when Alyssa Antilla finalized with her Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan. Alyssa then followed that up by placing seventh in the world for her Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan.  Mr. Bodenburg would like to congratulate Alyssa, Stephanie, Cooper, and Donovan for their tremendous efforts at the ICDC.   He would also like to congratulate every DECA member at Coon Rapids High School for a wonderful year of competition.   Good job DECA!
