Welcome to my classroom website

My name is Andy Rakerd, and I'm a new Language Arts teacher at Blaine High School, teaching 11th and 12th grade. 

I graduated from the University of Minnesota: Duluth, with a double major in Theater and Education in Communication Arts and Literature. Prior to working at BHS, I was an ELA teacher at New Heights School in Stillwater, MN for six years. In addition to teaching, I'm highly involved in theater. I can routinely be seen acting or writing plays in and around the Minneapolis area. I'm also a part-time Driver's Education teacher with A+ Driving School.

Lastly, it's a huge point of pride for me that I am a BHS alum, and I couldn't be more excited about rejoining the Blaine family as a teacher!
