• The Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) allows students to enroll in college courses at no cost to the student. Students must meet college admission requirements and must complete classes required for high school graduation. This option is for independent, highly responsible and motivated students.     General Education option for grades 11 and 12

    Eligibility: Depends on the college you want to attend --- check with your counselor and the college
     
    Benefits: Earn college credit and gain college experience while in high school
     
    Other information:
    • Application must be completed prior to the trimester you want to enroll; contact college for deadlines
    • Subjects and courses depend on college/university 
    • Part-time and full-time enrollments are available
    • Student is responsible for fulfilling high school graduation requirements
    • Parents are not notified of attendance or progress
    • PSEO students can participate in high school co-curricular activities
    • Student must provide transportation
     

    Career Technical Education option for grades 10, 11, 12

    Eligibility: Must meet or exceed the standards on the 8th grade MCA Reading test
     
    Benefits: Earn college credit
     
    Other information:
    • Only one class can be taken during a college semester
    • Courses eligible must be career technical education courses
    • This option is only available at community and technical colleges
    • College credit may transfer - check with the school of your choice
    • Colleges may set course eligibility requirements, check course description
    • Students must provide transportation
     

    Honors statement

    Anoka-Hennepin recognizes the rigor of courses taken at colleges and universities through the Post Secondary Enrollment Option. Starting in the 2019-20 school year, PSEO courses at the college course number 1000 or above level are designated as honors courses on the high school transcript.
